What ADAG does

The Australian Dental Anaesthetic Group (ADAG) provides anaesthesia and sedation for dental treatment arranged with dental practices in Victoria. A dental practice that wants some of its patients treated under sedation or general anaesthesia arranges a session; the dentistry stays with the practice, and the anaesthetic care is provided through ADAG.

ADAG is not a dental practice and does not provide dental treatment. It does not take emergency calls: in an emergency, call 000.

How a session is set up is described step by step in arranging a session, and the practical detail for reception and chairside staff is in information for practice teams.

The founder: Dr Walid Aly, Specialist Anaesthetist

Dr Walid Aly’s 2024 CV records that he founded The Australian Dental Anaesthetic Group. He is a Specialist Anaesthetist, registered with Ahpra as a medical practitioner with general and specialist registration in anaesthesia. He is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), the specialist qualification in anaesthesia in Australia and New Zealand.

His anaesthetic work is wider than dentistry. His professional website, drwalidaly.com.au, describes it and sets out his qualifications and experience in full.

Business registration and governance

The Australian Dental Anaesthetic Group is a business name registered in Australia under ABN 67 403 071 186. The Australian Business Register’s ABN Lookup shows the business name against that number, and anyone can check it there.

Personal and health information that reaches ADAG is handled under its privacy policy. Patient details are never collected through this website: practices send referrals through a secure channel agreed before a first session.

ADAG has a LinkedIn organisation page. It represents the group, not Dr Aly personally.
