General information, not advice

This website describes, in general terms, how The Australian Dental Anaesthetic Group (ADAG) works with dental practices. It cannot take account of any individual patient’s health, medicines or treatment. This information is general and does not replace advice from your treating practitioner. Where anything here differs from what your anaesthetist, dentist or oral surgeon tells you, follow their instructions, especially about eating, drinking and medicines.

What ADAG does not do

ADAG provides anaesthesia and sedation for dental treatment arranged with dental practices in Victoria. It does not provide dental treatment and does not recommend particular dental practices. Sending an enquiry through this website does not book a session and does not make anyone a patient.

Emergencies

This website and its forms are not monitored for urgent problems. In an emergency, call 000. For health advice by phone at any hour, healthdirect is on 1800 022 222.

How it is prepared and reviewed

The pages are written by Altitude Creative for ADAG. Facts about the organisation and its founder come from public registers, the Ahpra register of practitioners and ABN Lookup, and each is checked against them before it is published. Clinical pages are based on current Australian guidance from organisations such as ANZCA and the Australian Dental Association, list their sources, and show the status of their clinical review and the date they were drafted or last reviewed.

Guidance changes, and a page can fall behind between reviews. If you notice something inaccurate or out of date, please tell us through the contact page so it can be corrected.

We link to other organisations’ websites, including ANZCA, the Australian Dental Association, the Victorian Department of Health and healthdirect, so you can read their guidance first-hand. We also link to two websites connected with ADAG’s founder: drwalidaly.com.au and sleep-dental.com.au. We do not control the other organisations’ websites, and a link does not mean they endorse ADAG.

Checking registration

Any Australian health practitioner’s registration, specialty and conditions can be checked on the Ahpra register, and ADAG’s registered business name on ABN Lookup.
